“Vincenzo” Episode 1
The combo of the opening scene plus the dramatic music gives this series a feel good vibe to continue watching. Very quickly it gives the audience a background of who Vincenzo’s character is. Song Joong-ki played the character of Vincenzo Cassano very well as he always have a calm and cool look and yet deep inside he can be “righteously” brutal. He is always neatly and smartly dressed and carries a lighter with him. In one of the episode when Hong Cha-young (Jeon Yeo-been) asked him why he always carries a lighter around even though he doesn’t smoke, he replied that the sound of the clicking lighter helps him to think.
Looking at Geumga Plaza, Vincenzo mutters that his goal is to tear down the building.
The scene continues on to where 72 hours prior to him being in Korea, Vincenzo was in Rome Italy.
He was introduced as CONSIGLIERE OF THE CASSANO FAMILY.
Vincenzo arrives at a vineyard where he meets with another mafia boss. Giving a last offer from Fabio (Vincenzo’s adopted father who had just passed away), he was turned down and ignored. Walking away, he flicked his lighter and the whole vineyard blew up into flames. At the start of the scene, on his way to the vineyard, a plane was seen flying in the air, dropping what looks like particles of water. Later it was discovered it was actually spraying gasoline onto the vineyard.
